Outdoor Camps 2016

Project Info

Our three out door camps have been completed for the year with year six going to Carey Park in Henderson, year five travelling to Rotorua and year four having a camp ‘taster’ at Carey Park. A highlight of the year is often the camp. For year six this  means four days and three nights at wonderful Camp Carey where they get to experience all sorts of activities. For many this is the first time they will have been challenged in this way with some of the activities designed to be appropriately testing. . With an emphasis on working together while also being individually challenged, the camp provides something for everybody although not a lot of sleep for some!

The year five camp involved three days and two nights experiencing the cultural and natural wonders of Rotorua. The camp provides an outstanding opportunity to explore New Zealand’s bi-cultural heritage as well as experiencing life away from home.
The year four camp is very much a ‘taster’ with a day spent at Camp Carey to prepare them for the longer camp experiences in their last two years at Campbells Bay School. While some of the activities experienced in the year six camp at the same venue are not on the menu for the year four camp, there is still plenty of challenges during their very full day at the camp.
The school acknowledges the ‘extra mile’ teachers and parents go to ensure our students have the very best opportunities to experience education outside the classroom. Thank you.
